Dan Armstrong
Dan is a fly fishing guide and co-owner of Conneaut Creek Float & Fly with over 20 years of guiding experience and deep roots on the Lake Erie tributaries. Having grown up on the banks of Conneaut Creek, Dan developed his knowledge of the water at a young age and has spent a lifetime refining his approach to fly fishing. He specializes in targeting steelhead and helping anglers of all skill levels find success.
Dan is also an experienced destination fishing guide, spending seasons in Alaska managing logistics and guiding remote fisheries. As a signature tier for Umpqua Feather Merchants, he is known for patterns like the Hood Rat. His custom fly patterns are trusted by anglers across the country—bringing a high-level, well-rounded experience to every trip.
When he’s not guiding, Dan is in the shop tying custom flies, managing day-to-day operations, and helping customers get dialed in for their next day on the water.
Bill Brown
Bill Brown is a co-owner and fly fishing guide at Conneaut Creek Float & Fly, with a lifetime of experience fishing the Lake Erie tributaries. Raised along Conneaut Creek, Bill developed an early understanding of the water and has spent years honing his approach to targeting steelhead in a variety of conditions.
He spent eight seasons guiding in Alaska, gaining valuable experience on remote fisheries and working with anglers of all skill levels. During the summer months, Bill plays a key role in running the shop and coordinating kayak trips, helping customers enjoy everything Conneaut Creek has to offer beyond the fishing season.
Whether he’s guiding clients on the water or working in the shop, Bill is committed to providing a quality experience for every angler who walks through the door.
